Nike Zoom KD V Officially Unveiled
The clearest look yet of the Nike Zoom KD V finally arrives, with the official photos here showing off the first good angles on a release outside of the court-ready Oklahoma city versions. The Nike Zoom KD V ‘DMV’ was crafted as a tribute to Kevin Durant’s homeland, the often lumped in together trio of Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia-with KD hailing from the first of those three. The sneakers feature a bright crimson upper serving up an homage to the Maryland state flag, and the overall design of the sneaker as the fifth in the KD line being significant as well. Click through with us for the full look at the Nike Zoom KD V and keep in mind that they will launch on NIKEiD come November 6th, with the ‘DMV’ and the Thunder ‘Away’ colorway hitting on December 8th.

Designed with premium materials and leading Nike performance technologies, the KD V represents the evolution of Kevin Durant and his style of play.
Leo Chang, Nike Basketball Footwear Design Director, took Durant’s fifth signature shoe to new dimensions by combining inspirational cues drawn from Durant’s personal journey with symbolism from the number five – wrapped up in a premium performance package.
“Championship drive takes an entire team, and the new KD V represents the roadmap I follow,” said Kevin Durant, 3-time scoring champion. “Leo did a great job on the shoe by combining the best technology with my journey and what the number five means to me.”
With a refined design aesthetic matching Durant’s smooth and fluid style of play, the KD V integrates four leading technologies: 1) a Nike Zoom unit in the forefoot, 2) Nike Air unit in the heel 3) unibody Hyperfuse upper construction for superior fit 4) external heel counter to allow the foot to move while still providing support.
The shoe’s hidden story comes from five players united on the court, five sides of a pentagon – a Washington D.C. landmark, five corners of a star, and Durant’s fifth Nike signature shoe. This tribute to five is brought to life on the shoe’s outsole pattern, midsole texture, tongue quilting with V’s, and heel counter details.
The Maryland state flag inspires the color combination on the shoe’s Bright Crimson colorway – with the flag’s red, yellow and black remixed in bright and light tones – a fitting tribute to Durant’s home state.
The KD V launches globally on NIKEiD on November 6, then is fully available beginning December 8 in both the Bright Crimson colorway and Black/blue colorway.
WOW! love KD ,i respect Leo Chang, & the KD line has been pretty awesome since the ones. The price is nice too!! mos def gotta grab a pair , & this colorway is sweat
Now everybody likes these! I been saying they was dope since i saw them on the 2K cover. Yall been sleep. They are not, i repeat, ARE NOT as dope as the 4's but, they still dope. Cant wait!
Might have to COP like officer Ricky! Lol nah these grew on me it wasn't love at first sight at all! Lol
WOW. I was so interested in seeing how this new look with the high ankles was gonna turn out. leo Chang is a master indeed. Look AMAZING. That back and heel are so good. Real fresh design and clean lines. Nice and simple but quality looking. Attention to detail. Unlike the ugly Lebron X(LBJ line peaked on the 9 for me), that just looks lazily designed i.e whack some random triangle shapes in kinda thing... and the Kobe 8(that peaked on the 6 for me), that looks cheap and boring. These are fresh and exciting. Great idea to put them in Nike/id and create your own before they even officially release. Gonna be some amazing cw's out there. Logo is clean, love the padded tongue, air bubble, speckles, fresh cw, not too expensive...well done KD. Only sneaker left that keeps getting better and better. Exciting times for this line imo. Always have the freshest cw ideas too, nerfs, weathermans, dmv... just crazy. Love it. Will be good to see how they perform on court, and how the extra ankle strength being a high top now helps KD move.
These really aren't as bad as I, and almost everyone else, thought. Shows how good photography can make anything look great
The heel definitely reminds me of the Air Mags. I'm sure I'll be seeing a Marty McFly custom pretty soon.
At first i was like these hoes aint fire now... Theyve gained my respect ... If the colorways they choose are unique then these hoes will make it
@AljosaCikojevic these look nothing like lebron 10's or air mags.... what are you talking about?
@diamondlifee @ $110 that's the point
@4U2NV I like the high... but you right, had they made it a low cut, these shits would have been nuts.
@Da_Real_Big_Infinite not bad??? still kinda wanted his line to stay low; but I guess Kobe, CP3 got the lows on lock. These look a little plain to me, could've done sooooo much more with the uppers; almost look like a blank canvas.
@SelfishMoneyOriginal the back looks jus lik the airmag back n they remind me of some cheap lebron 10s
@Romeisasleep well if u remember, da kd 3s were a mid top shoe b4 convertin to da low top in da 4s... so I think kd likes to keep his designs new & fresh.. now Kobe & cp3 shoes have looked da same fa yrs... but I agree wit u on da upper. Could of doin sumthin on them more. But I'm really feelin da kd 5s
