No, the “boro” in the title of this collection of Converse Chuck Taylor 1970 remakes from Dr. Romanelli isn’t a reference to the neighborhoods of NYC. Boro here refers to a group of collectible Japanese textiles that the good Doctor has utilized for these cut and sew customs. The result is a patchwork look that you’re definitely not gonna come to close to with the inline Converse stuff. Following up on Nike’s OG leaning retros as of late, subsidiary Converse is ready to release a couple sneakers aimed at replicating the Chuck Taylor build of old. Arriving this Friday, February 15th is the Converse First String 1970s Chuck Taylor All Star, which uses heavy duty canvas, a license plate looking hit on the heel, and chunkier bits of rubber on the foxing and toe box.
